“Caring FOR your pet, and Caring ABOUT your pet”

DOG WALKING

A daily walk for your dog is important to its physical well-being, and will undoubtedly prove to be of emotional benefit.  Your dog will get a chance to stretch its legs, get some fresh air, and do something s/he enjoys.  A walk will also help to tire out your pet so that you will enjoy a good night’s sleep later on, after you return home from work.

Walks are scheduled for a 30-minute time slot and are priced at $18.00 each.  Should you opt for a week-long (5-day) package, the 5-day total will be discounted to $85.00 for the week.  Monthly pricing is $325 for Package A, which includes all days except Saturdays and Sunday, and $400 for Package B which includes all days except Sundays.

In the event of rain, your dog will be outfitted with a raincoat, unless the rainfall is just too heavy, in which case the walk will be delayed or shortened and the remaining time of the 30-minute visit will be devoted to play time.

Q:  What exactly is involved in the Roger Rover dog-walking service?

A:  Roger Rover will come to your place within a pre-scheduled time frame for a 30-minute visit and will prepare your dog for his walk.  Your dog will be walked in your neighborhood and then returned home.  S/he will be watered and fed according to your instructions.  Roger will fill out a summary sheet, indicating the arrival and departure time along with any comments about the walk.  The summary sheet will be left at your residence.  If you want Roger Rover to visit while you’re not at home, you will need to provide a key to your residence ahead of time.

Q:  What happens when it rains?  Do you still walk dogs on those days?

A:  Yes, walks still occur on rainy days.  Roger Rover has a variety of sizes in the area of raincoats for dogs, and your pet will be adorned with one to keep him/her as dry as possible.

Q:  What happens on extremely hot or cold days?  Do you still walk dogs on those days?

A:  Yes, but in these cases, common sense is exercised.  If the temperature is at approximately 95 and above, or approximately 15 and below, walks will still occur, but your pet will be monitored closely.  If your dog appears to be laboring or adversely affected in the early part of the walk, s/he will be returned home, and the rest of the time of the 30-minute visit will be devoted to play time inside.  Roger won’t leave a pet that’s overheated or one that’s showing ill-effects from exposure.

Q:  What kind of leash do you use?

A:  Roger Rover has an assortment of harnesses for different sizes and shapes of dogs.  Harnesses tend to be easier to handle and more comfortable for the dog.  However, some dogs do tend to slip out of their harness.  Roger Rover will make every attempt to get a safe and secure fit with a harness, but it may be necessary in some cases to use a collar-type leash as a backup, and in a short time, your dog will get accustomed to this method.

Q:  Can you handle big dogs?

A:  Roger Rover operates as a one-man dog-walking service.  Standing at around 6’7”, the owner, Roger Weaver, is physically capable of working with all sizes of dogs.

Q:  How many dogs can you walk at once, and is there an extra fee for them?

A:  To provide the best service, Roger Rover prefers to work with one dog at a time.  However, a second dog can be accommodated on the same walk.  The fee for a second dog is an additional $5.00 per walk.  So, for example, if you hire Roger Rover to walk 2 dogs on a weekly basis, the fee would be $105.00 for the week ($80.00 + $5.00 per day for the second dog).  And for one walk in a week, the fee for 2 dogs is $23.00.

Q: What safety precautions do you take while walking my dog?

Dogs are always on a leash and never left unattended.  They are always kept within eyesight to prevent mishaps.

Q: Your monthly packages look good.  What is the payment policy for them?

You have the option of paying one-week at a time in advance for 4 weeks, or paying the entire monthly fee in advance.
