WEB DEVELOPMENT
HTML proficiency dates back to 1996, with extensive usage up through the present.
- Created company web site for Specialty Bakers, including photo optimization, and
a recipe lookup system using Active Server Pages (ASP) scripting language. Used
Visual Basic to implement mass changes to text and CSS modifications throughout the
web site’s collection of web pages.
- While working for Keen Transport, created portable inventory lookup system from a
handheld computer/bar scanning device. Also provided maintenance and new content
for company’s content management system using Joomla.
- Utilized command of HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP, and Visual Basic while working for
SAMBA Insurance (2003-2009). In addition to revamping the company website on various
occasions with an emphasis on hand-coding of HTML, Javascript, and CSS, projects
at SAMBA included the development of a web 'Bill Pay' vehicle, an online insurance
enrollment system (Employee Benevolent Fund), and a medical claims lookup application.
Also produced web version of 80-page company handbook, with programmed search functionality.
- Gained skill in Javascript and Active Server Pages (ASP) in 2001 while working at
Syscom Services,.
- Since 1996, provided weekly, comprehensive, statistical web sites for local sports
groups in the Washington metro and Tri-state areas. Sites involve the programmatic
creation of 3 separate web sites, resulting from data input into a Visual Basic 6
record-keeping application. As a reflection of accuracy along with reliable validation
algorithms, an estimated 10 million keystrokes have been inputted in the weekly production
of these web sites over the last 19 years, essentially error-free. In 2011, AJAX
and JSON were implemented in the web pages to generate pop-up menus.
