Familiarity with database connectivity includes SQL Server, MySQL, Microsoft Access
and text files (flat files).
- SQL Server: 2001-2002; 2012-2013; 2014-2015
In 2001-2002, while working at Syscom
Services in Silver Spring, Maryland, development work for web clients consisted primarily
of data interaction using SQL Server 2000. In 2012-2013 at Keen Transport in Carlisle,
PA, desktop application system on Novell network utilized SQL Server 2005 and SQL
Server 2008. In 2014-2015 at Specialty Bakers in Marysville, PA, maintenance of
legacy system utilizes SQL Server 2000. - Microsoft Access: 2001-2002; 2003-2009
In 2001-2002, developing of Visual Basic 6.0
projects used Microsoft Access as the data source for projects for local home builders
company and American Pharmaceutical Association. In 2003-2009 at Samba Insurance,
Microsoft Access was used during conversion of mainframe raw data into Access tables.
The resulting MS Access database was telecommunicated on a daily basis to the company’s
web site, for used in web application written to allow public members to view their
medical claims online. - MySQL: 2009-2010
Used MySQL to house index links to articles and also survey information
for news site created while self-employed as Weaver Help Desk. The news site is
located at http://www.NiceNewsArticles.com. Also, while self-employed as Weaver
Help Desk, used MySQL as the data source for OCR based scanned data. The data was
placed in appropriate tables and then linked to an ASP web application to allow public
lookup of information by inputted time frame. - Text Files (Flat Files): 1996-Present
While providing web presence for local sports
groups in the Washington metro area and Tri-State areas, used text files as the data
source for a sophisticated desktop application which allows for rigorous weekly data
input, and subsequently produces web files for FTP to groups’ web sites (listed below).
Also used text file system in 2012-2013 during development of ambitious and effective
online record-keeping system that produce dynamically generated web sites. Details

- Developed news-based web site, partially in PHP with a MySQL database as the data
source, located at http://www.NiceNewsArticles.com
- Gained expertise in Javascript and Active Server Pages (ASP) in 2001 while working
at Syscom Services,.
- Utilized command of HTML, CSS, Javascript, ASP, and Visual Basic while working for
SAMBA Insurance (2003-2009). In addition to revamping the company website on various
occasions, projects at SAMBA included the development of a 'web Bill Pay' vehicle,
an online insurance enrollment system (Employee Benevolent Fund), and a medical claims
lookup application. Also produced web version of 80-page company handbook, with
programmed search functionality.
- While working for Keen Transport, created portable inventory lookup system from a
handheld computer/bar scanning device. Provided maintenance and new content with
"Keen" for its content management system (Joomla).
- Created company web site for Specialty Bakers, including photo optimization, and
a recipe lookup system.
